Prior to founding SSC in 2016, Mr. Fredston spent 6 years with The Gores Group as a senior leader focused on sourcing and executing M&A transactions. As a Principal on the M&A team and Global Head of Deal Origination, Mr. Fredston contributed to the deployment of a $2.1 billion large cap fund and $400 million small cap fund. From 2007 to 2009, he co-founded and managed a hedge fund that invested in "old economy" large-cap securities. Before that, Mr. Fredston worked at Ladenburg Thalmann in M&A and Goldman Sachs in the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities Division. Mr. Fredston currently holds an observer seat on the board of Cantium Holdco, LLC. Mr. Fredston earned a B.A. from Bates College.
Prior to joining SSC in 2017, Mr. Turner spent two years as a Principal, Senior Operational Executive, and Investment Committee member with Clearlake Capital and eight years as Sr. Vice President and Operational Executive at The Gores Group. In his 10+ years of private equity experience, Mr. Turner was the lead operational subject matter expert on over 200 potential transactions and led the post-acquisition operational carve-out, integration, and/or stand up of over 20 companies. Mr. Turner specializes in business turnarounds, asset optimization, supply chain management, lean operational excellence, and lean manufacturing. His engagements across a broad spectrum of industries include Aerospace, Medical Devices/Pharma, Automotive, Building Materials, Business Services, and Electronics/Technology. Mr. Turner has stepped into numerous interim leadership roles at portfolio companies including CEO and COO. Prior to his experience in private equity, Mr. Turner was the Chief Executive Officer of the aerospace company Precision Components Int’l, Inc. as well as Sr. Vice President of Global Sourcing and Operations at Crane Aerospace.
Mr. Sussman joined SSC in 2017 after spending two years as a Senior Research Analyst specializing in energy at Ivory Investment Management. At Ivory, Mr. Sussman was responsible for macro/industry analysis and in-depth equity and credit company evaluations. From 2012-2015, Mr. Sussman served as an equity and credit Senior Research Analyst at Empyrean Capital Partners focused on energy and industrial companies. Prior to that, he worked as a Research Analyst at SAC Capital Advisors in New York primarily analyzing long/short equity trade proposals in energy and industrials. Before joining SAC, Mr. Sussman was a generalist Research Analyst at Bentley Capital Management, a New York based hedge fund spun out of Soros Fund Management. Mr. Sussman started his career in 2006 at Lehman Brothers working on the firm’s industrial proprietary trading desk. Mr. Sussman currently holds a seat on the board of Cantium Holdco, LLC. He earned a B.A. from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Senior Associate, M&A
Mr. Pierucci began working at SSC in 2017. Prior to his work with SSC, Mr. Pierucci was a Private Equity Associate at The Gores Group in Los Angeles, CA. As an Associate, Mr. Pierucci was responsible for all phases of the investment process, including deal screening, due diligence, valuation, financial modeling, financing, operating and exiting. From 2011-2014, Mr. Pierucci was a Consultant at The Boston Consulting group, specializing in Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, and Total Shareholder Return. Mr. Pierucci earned a B.A. from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA and is currently pursuing an M.B.A. from The Wharton School in Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Gibson joined SSC in 2017. He previously spent four years in investment banking at MUFG Americas. While at MUFG, Mr. Gibson supported a team focused on tax-advantaged investments in the energy, transportation, and industrial sectors by modeling transactions, conducting due diligence, and monitoring the team’s $3B+ asset portfolio. Mr. Gibson graduated from Colgate University in 2013 with a B.A. in Physics and Economics.

President and CIO, Rincon Advisors
John W. O’Connor is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Rincon Advisors. As CIO, Mr. O’Connor is responsible for managing Rincon Private Equity and for leading Rincon’s manager due diligence work. Previously, Mr. O’Connor worked at Summit Rock Advisors, where he held seats on the Operating and Investment Committees. Mr. O’Connor played a lead role in the management of $10 billion in investment assets, with lead responsibility for the private equity, real assets, concentrated public equity, and natural resources hedge fund portfolios. Prior, John worked at the Stanford University Endowment, where he was one of the eight senior investment professionals managing over $20 billion assets and one of two senior professionals managing over $4 billion in private real estate asset investments. Mr. O’Connor holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA.
Energy Exploration and Production
Mr. Tomlinson has over 30 years of broad technical and commercial leadership experience in the oil and gas business. Mr. Tomlinson was most recently the General Manager, Managing Director, and Board Member of two Joint Ventures in the Eastern Desert of Egypt with TransGlobe Energy, where he oversaw production of 14,000 barrels of oil per day from five concessions (approx. 25% of Egypt’s Eastern Desert Production). He previously held a similar role with in Algeria with BHP Billiton Petroleum, where he also worked on asset development in the Permian Basin and served as Vice President of Planning. Prior to joining BHP Billiton, Mr. Tomlinson support the global exploration program at Murphy Exploration and held various operations, technical, and commercial/planning roles with ExxonMobil in Asia and West Africa.

Mr. Kassin served as a Supervisory Board Member of LyondellBasell Industries where he held the positions of Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee and Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is the former Head of M&A and Financing for Access Industries, Inc. where he originated, directed and managed over $30 billion in chemical and natural resource acquisitions. Prior to Access Industries, Mr. Kassin served as the Head of Chemical Investment Banking at Evercore and has held senior investment banking roles at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Kassin earned B.A. from Syracuse University and a M.P.A. from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
Mr. Fazzolari is the former Chairman, President, and CEO of Harsco Corporation, an industrial solutions company that provides products and services to the global steel, rail, energy, and infrastructure markets. During his four years as CEO of Harsco, Mr. Fazzolari initiated a strategic business transformation founded on globalization, innovation, and optimization. Mr. Fazzolari worked at Harsco from 1980-2012 and held numerous positions at the firm prior to becoming CEO, including President (2 years), CFO (10 years), Treasurer, Corporate Controller, Director of Internal Audit, Senior Auditor, and Auditor. Currently, Mr. Fazzolari is the President and CEO of Salvatore Fazzolari Advisors LLC, a management consulting firm that drives results by focusing on strategy, execution, and company culture. Mr. Fazzolari earned a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Stibbard is the founder and CEO of JDS Energy & Mining. He is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in mine design, construction and operations. Prior to establishing JDS, Mr. Stibbard served in various capacities by leading the development and operations of mining projects around the world including: Mine Manager for BHP’s Ekati Diamond Mine, General Manager of Mining for Albian Sands Energy Inc. in Fort McMurray, AB, and was a founding member of Western Oilsands Inc. Mr. Stibbard holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Montana Tech. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Northwest Territories and Alberta.
